Visitor data

The site has no sign-up, cookies or advertising tools (the e-mail list and cookieless visitor analytics are described below), The day and map position you select live only in the address bar (URL).

Your browser's local storage (localStorage) holds only two preferences: the map's dark-theme choice and a flag that the map guide has been shown. They stay in your browser only, are not sent to any server, do not identify you, and can be removed by clearing your browser data; no cookies are used.

The site is served through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and keep them secure, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser information; Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies to that processing.

The base map (land, sea, place names) is loaded from OpenFreeMap servers; your browser connects to them directly and your IP address is sent to them.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visitor numbers. It is cookieless, collects no personal data and stores no IP addresses; it only produces aggregate visit and page-load performance statistics.

The “Report a problem” link shown when data fails to load only opens your email app with a prepared message (page address, which section failed, time and browser details); nothing reaches us unless you send it, and you can edit the text first. Errors are not collected automatically.

E-mail list

If you leave your address to receive the weekly report, we store only your e-mail address, your chosen language and the date of sign-up. The legal basis is your explicit consent (KVKK art. 5/1); nobody is signed up without ticking the consent box.

We use your address only for the weekly report and essential notices about this list; we do not sell or share it. Addresses are held on the servers of our e-mail delivery service; its name and location will be added here when the list opens.

You can unsubscribe with one click from the link in every e-mail, and your address is then deleted. You can also write to the contact address to withdraw consent or ask for deletion.

Aircraft data

Map data is derived from ADS-B messages that aircraft broadcast publicly and is obtained from the adsb.lol community network. The aircraft address (ICAO24) and callsign identify an aircraft and, for private aircraft, may indirectly point to its owner.

Aircraft enrolled in the US Federal Aviation Administration's privacy programmes (LADD, PIA) never have their address or callsign shown; they only count towards cell totals.

If you would like an aircraft's identity not to be shown, write to the address above; we will review your request and let you know the outcome.

Your rights

Under Article 11 of the KVKK you may ask whether your personal data is processed, request information, ask for correction or deletion, and object. Send requests to the contact address above; we reply within 30 days at the latest.
